Cereplast (NASDAQ:CERP) a leading manufacturer of proprietary bio-based, compostable and sustainable plastics, announced today that it has entered into a multi-million dollar contract with RI.ME. Masterbatch S.r.l., (“RI.ME.”) based in Mozzate (CO), Italy, to supply bioplastic resins for use in its masterbatch process for adding colorant to bulk, uncolored resins. The new agreement supports RI.ME.’s commitment to offering its customers sustainable, environmental solutions in the design and production of masterbatches.

“We are excited that RI.ME. has chosen Cereplast to provide bioplastic resins for use in its masterbatching process for its clients throughout Europe,” said Mr. Frederic Scheer, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Cereplast, Inc. “This was made possible by RI.ME.’s success in using our materials in its masterbatching process, and by the excellent performance of Cereplast resins on extrusion lines designed for HDPE, LDPE or PVC without any kind of technical investments. RI.ME. is a leader in designing and developing masterbatches suitable for coloration and with any type of thermoplastic resin. This is a significant contract for Cereplast and we are honored to work with RI.ME., who is promoting increased market awareness and adaption of bioplastic/compostable solutions in Europe and helping us to increase our presence in this important geographic market.”

Under the terms of the contract, Cereplast will supply its Compostable 3000 film grade for use in RI.ME.’s masterbatching processes for the production of items such as carry out bags and compostable trash bags. This film is designed to have an excellent balance of puncture strength, toughness, and can be processed on existing blown film extrusion machines. Cereplast Compostable 3000 is a proprietary patented formulation which includes Ingeo PLA and a copolyester from BASF. Cereplast will begin shipping its bio resins in September 2010 and is currently in discussions to extend the contract on other RI.ME. product lines. The initial contract runs through December, 2011.
“Our contract with Cereplast enables us to address growing consumer and industrial demand for environmentally-friendly plastic products,” commented Mr. Alberto Cattaneo, CEO of RI.ME. “We currently supply biodegradable colors to more than 150 of our customers. This collaborative agreement expands our product offering and strengthens our position as a leading designer and developer of masterbatches throughout Europe.”

Day trading is not an easy job and it takes a lot of time to perfect.

The bad thing is there are no short cuts or quick fixes to it, there are only solutions. Here are some trading do’s that will help you find the right trading set up that will work for you.

Natalia Osorio Editor of the “Best Stock Trading” website — http://www.BestStockTradingUsa.com — pointed out;

“…Always set a stop for your trades based on quantifiable information. Don’t put your money at risk because someone said so. Refrain from becoming a news trader. Don’t rely solely on the news while trading, imagine how much time it takes for the news to reach you. In fact in almost all cases you should trust the rumor more than the news.

Position only in those trades that you are familiar with. Never try to get into a trade that you have no substantial knowledge of. Each trade has its behavior, know this behavior first before you play with it…”

Trading systems may not be consistent in all markets. Match the trading system with its respective market. What works in the down market may not work in the up market.

Identify the trend and take advantage of it. Remember that patterns are always there; only one trend will always be more dominant than the other. Enter a trade when it is starting to pick up or when it already has a trend but try to be discretionary in trades that are starting to lose their positive trends.

It will always be easier for you to enter a losing trade; however, it is a lot more dangerous than a winning trade.

Always chose the right timing. Compute for probabilities and analyze the market indicators but don’t let analyses paralyze your actions.

News only goes as far as yesterday. It will only tell you things that have already happened but it’s not a good predictor of what is going to happen. If you read this morning’s paper, you are reading history.

As much as possible don’t get into the trade late but get out of it early. These positions are usually the most expensive.

Get out of the trade while everyone else is still in. Don’t be the last person to get out of it.

Go for one big move instead of few moves with very low returns.

“…If you are losing trades days in a row, maybe all you need is a break. Try to put it off for a day.

Ride the momentum, if you are winning trades don’t stop but don’t push your trades too far or you might lose everything you have won. There are only two crucial questions in day trading- is the market going up or is it going down? Answering these questions will give you a better judgment on what actions to take…” N. Osorio added.

Lastly, if everything else fails, sell.

After an interview with Shelly Palmer, World Market Media has decided to highlight companies that focus on Media featured in our Nano and Micro Cap Indices.

Today Playboy Enterprises Inc. (NASDAQ: PLA) is trading at 3.71 up .01 or .27% on a volume of 67k. Over the past year, the company has begun to recover from economic head winds peaking at $4.78 in December of 2009. World Market Media has been covering Playboy for quite some time and it has been interesting to see how the company has evolved from purely an entertainment company into a brand management company. As demand for their products has begun to wash out slightly here in the U.S. PLA continues to find new ways to increase top line growth, and has recently expanded into foreign countries, particularly Asia, in order to lengthen their product life cycle.

In recent news, a Playboy nightclub and a Complex modeled after the playboy mansion are now being developed for the Chinese Hotel Macau. The club will feature a 12,000 foot entertainment area and will be atop the Sands Macao Casino. The Playboy Mansion Macao will be 30,000 square feet and feature bars, lounges, nightclubs and retail stores. The mansion has a projected open in the first quarter in 2012. No details of the revenue sharing were given in the press release. In other news, last Thursday Playboy Enterprises named Kai Shing Tao, officer of investment firm Pacific Star Partners as a member of its board.

A second company to highlight is 8×8 corporation (NASDAQ: EGHT). This company offers Voice over IP telecommunications as well as broadband video conferencing services to business. On May 19th EGHT reported that it had installed roughtly 30,000 new lines and logged a net income of 1.1 million or 2 cents a share, a big increase from a loss of 3.9 million or 6 cents a share from a year ago.

EGHT has had a rough time competing with the major broadband providers, but focuses on end to end solutions for business and a high level of customer service. Although their stock has been volatile, over the past year, the company has grown from the $.60 cent range to its current position at almost 100% increase. Currently EGHT is trading at 1.32 up .14 up 12% for the day.

Day trading is never a sure thing, but success ranges with the information that you have. The time that you dedicate to learning about a company can heavily inform your strategy, and your strategy can help to influence your profits. Here are some more tips that can help you start to get an idea of what you’ll be dealing with.

1. Liquidity and Volatility: The former means that you can enter or exit a stock at a good price. A liquid stock is one that people are willing to buy and sell at all times. This means that there is a smaller spread, i.e. a little difference between the bid and the ask price of a stock, and little or no slippage, i.e. the expected price of a trade and its actual price. Volatility is a measure of how far the stock can fall or rise in a day – the daily range of a stock.

2. Entry points: There are three main ways to determine when to enter a stock trade. Candlestick patterns display reversal trends in the price of a stock. We then look for volume, whether buyers are supporting the stock at this level. Finally, we look at prior price support, the level at which the stock usually bottoms before reversing.

3. Strategies: Scalping is one of the most common and involves selling as soon as a stock becomes profitable. Fading is getting out as soon as a stock’s price spikes. This is based on assumptions of the stock being overbought, that buyers will soon get out, and that early buyers are already making profits. A daily pivot strategy involves buying as the stock pivots from daily low to daily high, usually using the above strategies. Momentum involves trading on releases of news or according to reversals.

4. Stop-loss: Setting a stop-loss is a good way to avoid losing a lot of money. It is the lowest value at which you will retain the stock. If the trade takes a turn for the worse that you weren’t expecting, you can get out while you can. Reaching a stop-loss means that you should stop trading for that day rather than taking unnecessary risks trying to make up losses. Stay informed by reading the business news so that you know when and what factors may be affecting your portfolio.

5. Stay with your strategy. Don’t try to target profits, instead focus on your strategy. By tweaking your strategy if something goes wrong, you will have better chances of being successful the next day.

6. Diversify: By exploring mutual funds and bonds, you won’t be putting all of your eggs in one basket. That way, if one sector of the market tanks, you won’t necessarily be destroyed.

Day trading is not profitable for most people. In fact, more than half of day traders fail. The best way to go about day trading is through practice and constant re-evaluation of your adherence to your chosen strategy. Be dedicated and patient. If you follow these tips, your strategy will pay off.

S&P 500

Fear overseas is playing apart during today’s trading. Greece debt and the bailout offered are presenting questionable actions on whether the play will help the euro. China’s real estate bubble and the falling price of copper are indicating fears of deflation rising throughout the global economy.

The S&P 500 index finished just below the natural support level of 1175. The index met resistance due to Monday’s previous high as well as the convergence of the 144 and 200 day moving averages on the 5 minute chart. The S&P 500 index should be trading below the 1190 Monday’s resistance. An upward breakout could possible push the towards the 1110 area.

Looking at the daily chart of the S&P 500 index, its still trading below January 2010 resistance level as well as the 144 day moving average of 1117. Expect the market to be range bound between 1175 and 1110 as we head towards the slow summer months.

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) Market Volatility index (VIX) measures options activity within the market and is widely used tracking the S&P 500. Increasing volatility implies pessimism within the market and stocks sell off as traders seek protection for their assets.

A common trading strategy for traders and investors includes a VIX level of 30 or above means an immediate switch from equities to cash. Currently the VIX is above the 144 and 200 day moving averages on the daily chart. Traders and investors are retreating from the markets and finding safety and protection within the dollar. As long as we stay above this level expect pessimism as we approach the slow summer months.

There are all different stock brokers online. And you may be with one, however, realize that there are many options, and you really can save, if you know where to look. And you can get the best deal. Discover more here, and get the best.

The first thing to remember, is that the biggest aspects of trading stocks online, is that you have the stock broker, and this is one thing, and then you have the fees you need to pay.

This aspect is what is different, because you actually have some that charge higher commissions to trade. Getting a better deal is something which is of great interest.

When trading on a daily basis, to the point that you can be called a day trader, you will find that you actually end up with a lot of dealing costs.

You don’t need this, and one of the best ways to get a better deal, is to go through the right sources. So invest this time, and you will find the best options.

Another aspect to look at, is what you get with the stock broker. Some stock brokers have better platforms, and it is essential to have a look at what you get.

This makes all the difference, and getting the balance right between both these aspects can bring you the best deal. With so many different stock brokers on the internet, finding the best is not that difficult.

Some offer demo accounts to try the system, and some even offer day traders a better offer, when they trade a certain amount in a period of time. So, invest some time into finding this information.

This question is sort of like asking. “Is buying a Ford a good idea?” Ford makes some very good cars, and it also made some cars for which I don’t care. By and large, attending a trading room is a good idea if you are looking to learn a specific technique the trading room utilizes. It’s one thing to be able to spot a technique on a historical chart, and quite different to see the technique developed on a live chart.

There are several rooms I stop into from time to time and find them helpful and the moderators intelligent and well trained. On the other hand, I am often asked to sit in on new rooms and am perplexed as to the goal of the moderators. There are times I have been totally confused as the trading room leaders’ call out trades. Perhaps they trade in a different style than I, but many of the trades I have observed make absolutely no sense.

Then again, I am a confirmed scalper. I am also a confirmed in-the-trend scalper. So I find it perplexing when moderators’ call out counter trend scalp trades as these trades have a low probability of success. Usually these trades occur as results of a configuration of oscillators are indicating a trade, regardless of whether or not the trade is with the trend. To my way of thinking, trading against the trend is generally a terrible idea, regardless of what your indicators may be indicating. I am also a firm believer and using a consistent methodology in your trading technique, so when day trading room moderator initiates a trade I think it’s a good idea for that individual to carefully explain the criteria for the trade and why is a high probability trade.

After all, trading is all about high probability trades and low probability trades, nothing more.

This statement is a bit of a misnomer, though, because the randomness component of the market precludes any actual percentage number being assigned to a given trade. Experience and study tells us which trades have a higher percentage of success than others.

But getting back to trading rooms, I believe they are in general a good idea. If the trading room is not technically sound, it is still possible to learn a great deal. Every time I have observed someone else trade I learned a little bit, whether it is a positive idea or a bad idea. Odd as it may sound, I think I get more out of bad trading rooms and lousy trading systems than I do very good trading systems and trading rooms. Why? Because I can spot the errors in thinking (at least in my opinion) that are being exhibited for the traders and the room. Of course, sometimes I want to scream out “how could you possibly take that trade?” But I don’t. As a visitor to a trading room my job is to watch and learn.

It seems in every trading room there is an individual who is intent on imposing his view on trading on the rest of the room. He or she is generally a visitor to the room and dominates the chat with arguments with the moderator. Aside from being great entertainment, this gives me a chance to see the moderator explain his technique, or lack of technique. To some, the loudmouth visitor is annoying because he or she disagrees with the moderator. I don’t see it that way because I get a great insight into what the moderator and trading room are all about.

On the other hand, I have been a moderator in several trading rooms when there is an individual who is vehemently opposed to my trading style, it can be a major distraction to the other traders and me, as trying to explain my methodology often results in missed trades and lack of attention to the trading chart. So it’s a two-way street, it’s great to watch someone disagree with a trading room moderator, but it’s difficult to be a moderator with a difficult visitor in the room.

To answer the question that the title of this article poses, I think trading rooms are a great idea. It does not matter if you agree with the methodology of the trading room, as you can learn any time you watch someone else trade. I am a student, and always will be a student, of trading; even after 25 years of trading. I have never heard a trader explain that he or she just knows too much about trading. Even in the worst trading rooms, there are nuggets of knowledge that you can pick up and use at some point in your trading career. I would point out however, that the nuggets of knowledge you learn may not necessarily be positive, and they may be distinctly negative. But knowledge is knowledge, and you can’t have too much knowledge.

I am a long time retail and institutional trader who now only trades part time, usually in the morning. I enjoy writing informational articles about my style of trading so others may benefit.

Trading success can often be the result of minimizing your losses and this very point is emphasized when trading a highly leveraged product like Index CFDs. In fact the golden rule of trading success can be found in the old trading maxim: Cut your losses off short and let your profits run and if you are able to follow this formula for success you should be on the right side of the ledger more often than not.

What is an Index CFD?

Index CFDs are highly leveraged CFD products that enable you to gain access to the main indices around the world. You can begin trading the SPI 200 (sometimes referred to as the Aussie 200), FTSE, Nasdaq, S&P 500, Dow Jones and CAC 40 to name a few. You get an amazing amount of leverage as most CFD brokers allow you to trade at 1% margin or 100 times leverage.

The greatest risk to your trading account

Trading Index Contracts for Difference at 100 times leverage or 1% margin allows you to make extremely large gains or losses on your trading account. It is for this very reason that the number 1 risk to you when trading index CFDs is the way you control your leverage. When trading it is important to understand that you control the leverage on your account. This means that with $10,000 cash in your trading account, you can access as little or as much leverage as you desire. In effect this means you control how much risk you take on board by either trading a very low levels of leverage or trading risky at very high levels of leverage. Clearly the smartest option is to keep your leverage very small.

The hidden costs of trading Commission free index CFDs

Incredible amounts of marketing dollars are spent attracting new market participants to trading index CFDs and the main emphasis is on ‘commission free trading’. Now whilst they are not lying it is important to read the fine print and get a feel for what the real costs to trading this product are. All CFD brokers charge an overnight financing rate which means for every day you hold the position long, you get charged a certain rate. For index CFDs that rate is normally plus or minus 4% as opposed to plus or minus 3% for share CFDs so bear this in mind when trading the indices.
