Step One – Trial no-risk money back guarantee. If the offer states “Trial no-risk money back guarantee,” be sure to read all the fine print. Especially if the words FREE appears anywhere in the offer. Usually the main point to review is how long the offer is FREE or exactly what does the no-risk mean. This will be somewhere in the fine print –read it all at least twice.
Step Two – Shipping and handing charges only. This tactic is typically used to get your credit card information. You are lead to believe you are only paying $3.95 or some trivial amount to bring an amazing product to your doorstep. In fact, what you are doing is usually signing up for a recurring monthly membership of some sort which is hidden in the small print of the offer.
Step Three – Cancel at anytime for a full refund and/or exchange. This is another great tactic used by some of the most notorious marketers. The offer may state “Cancel at anytime for a full refund and or exchange,” but somewhere in the fine print the offer may also say “cancel at anytime within 10 days from the original order date. This is one of the most abusive tactics used today. What it really means is that you only have a few days to try the product. Most people get so busy with other priorities they forget about the short trial time period. Then, when you do go over the period for cancellation the company already has the shipping charge. Plus, they will bill you for the initial payment that you did not cancel on time. They may even go as far as to read the fine print to you when you attempt to cancel.
Rest assured there are a lot of honest companies out there, but the said truth is…there are more scams on the Internet than ever before. Just use some good common sense when you see something the looks too good to be true. If you instincts are telling you to beware…it’s for a reason.
